Karifa is an associate at A.P. Strom & Associates with experience in criminal defence and civil litigation. He tirelessly advocates for the firm’s clients, negotiates to resolve legal disputes cost-effectively, and is committed to protecting their rights from state misconduct.

Karifa has a wealth of academic, professional, and life experience. He completed his articles at a top criminal defence firm in Toronto that focuses on jury trials. He helped defend homicide, assault, and large drug and firearm trafficking cases. Using creative legal arguments, he assisted clients at the Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal and at the Supreme Court of Canada.  

During law school, Karifa volunteered at the Native Friendship Legal Clinic of Montreal. He advocated for clients with traumatic experiences under the supervision of top lawyers specializing in aboriginal law, litigation, and negotiation.

Karifa has an honours degree in philosophy from Toronto Metropolitan University, where he worked as a graduate assistant, and still sits on the Philosophy Program Advisory Council. He graduated from McGill University with a J.D. and a Bachelor of Civil Law. 

At the firm, Karifa negotiates settlements, performs real estate transactions, and represents clients at trial for criminal and civil matters. 

Karifa is fluent in French and English.
